A SENSE OF PLACE

I think that Hugo begins so many sections with a detailed description of the setting because he probably wants to lets us be aware of what is going to come out later on in the story.  I do agree that he has a strong sense that place and history are important to who we are.  Some places in my life that I think are important to me is my home that I live at right now.  Being in this place did shape the person I have become because I was raised in that house and I have a lot of memories.
