To me, what stays with me when I read are things that are really interesting to me.  If what I'm reading doesn't make since to me or I'm not really into the book then it doesn't stay in my memory. Also, I like reading books that have some interesting things to learn about and not boring things. When I read books that just by reading the first few pages, I'm already thinking that I'm not going to understand it and that it will not stay in my memory.

Learning independently means to me that you have to read on your own and be able to understand what you are saying/reading.  It can sometimes be hard if there are words you don't understand and that there is nobody who could help you because you are reading independently.  Reading collaboratively means to me that you are reading with other people.  Perhaps in the class or with a group.  What I think that works best for me is reading collaboratively with my class mates because I could understand better and if I need any help understanding the reading, I could get help from others.  I think that reading with others really helps me get more fluent in reading and more understandable because I will be able to be corrected by others and it will not just be me reading the whole time.

What I remember about the book is that Jean Valjean left prison and couldn't find a place to stay and rest , eat.  He was walking miles and miles and nobody let him in because they heard that he was a criminal.  But when Monseigner Bienvenu let him in, he already knew that he was a criminal. But, he still let him in his how to stay and rest.

My life experiences is connected to Les Mis because like how I said before.  Monseigner Bienvenu is a very successful person because he helps other people and says that he wants to see people succeed and to not fall.  I would like to see myself succeed in life and to become what I've worked hard for.  Monseigner Bienvenu is a good role model for people who don't believe in themselves.  Also, another connection I have with the book is by helping others who really need help.  I would help people who would actually try and move along but if they just want to live and have everything free and not try , then I wouldn't help them.  A last connection that I have is that all the people around me are grateful people.  Bienvenu's neighbors would always help him because he would always help others.  I think that so far in Les Mis I am having a connection with Monseigner Bienvenu.

      The French Revolution would have been different if people vote in that society because there could be wars that could start.  The vote in the French Revolution could be very violent.  There would be many people dead and everything will be ruined.  This is compared to Les Mis because if the French Revolution would have started maybe Monseigner Bienvenu would be a totally different person.  There would be more violent people and everyone would not succeed and help others in need. Moonseigner Bienvenu would be a violent bishop instead of helping the people around him. 

     While reading Les Mis I learned that Monseigner Bienvenu tried to do everything good but he still didn't fit in with others. This makes me think that you don't have to be rich or popular in order to succeed in life.  Succeed means to me that you are trying everything to get what you want.  I think that Monseigner Bienbevenu is a great person and that he deserves to be the best because he is capable of doing what he wants.      Another thing I find interesting while reading Les Mis is that Monseigner is a very helpful person. When old or young, rich or poor come to his house he always helps them and gives the what they need. He also devotes an hour of meditation to help himself and others.  I think that everyone that lived around him would always thank him for what he has done to others.      A last thing that I'm learning from the book is that Monseigner Bienvenu wants to see people succeed than to see them falling. Monseigner Bienvenu tried to do everything good but he still didn’t fit in.  Coach said that success is the self-satisfaction that is the direct result of peace of mind in knowing that you have done your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming. You don’t need to be rich or have money in order to become successful in life.
